On Friday, June 10th 2005, Virgin Trains marked the final service train booked to be hauled by Class 87s with a special double-headed run. The train, the 09:38 from London Euston to Manchester, was hauled by 87010 and 87002 (dead in train for most of the journey), with DVT 82101 on the rear.
A couple of weeks later, on 28th June, staff at Wembley Traincare Centre arranged a final line up of all the remaining London-based 87s, with the "celebrities" taking centre stage. Our thanks to Bryan Anthony for allowing us to use his photos, and to the team at Wembley for staging the event.
